H shape booms of arch bridge belong to typical bluff cross sections, their slenderness ratio is quite big, damping is small and various other factors, so its'wind induced stablity can not meet the requirment, or some sometime galloping inablity destruction will happen. Therefore, the vibration controlling of H shaped booms becomes the important subjet of H shaped booms type selecion. This paper sets out to take Fujian Minjing Bridge as a case to analyze the galloping performace of H shaped booms. This paper maily includs the following aspects:1. With the aid of Computation hydromechaics software Fluent, the present paper adopts 2D and 3D methods to calculate out the three-component coefficient. And the comparasion with the experiental result is carried out. Finally the feasibility of CFD method in calculating H shaped booms ' three-component coefficient is verified.2. According to the three-component coefficient, the research obtains the galloping coefficient of H shaped booms. And it Further obtains the H shaped booms' galloping critical wind speed and Torsional divergence critical wind speed.3. The expression of galloping oscillations' response is Derived from the quasi-steady theory and examples are drawn up to disscuss the feasibility of this expression. The research also compares the differences between the result of adopting low order model and the result of adopting higer rder mordel. From the analysis, the caluculation result coincides better to the wind-tunnel experimental result. So this method has high accuracy and it can be use as a reference method of other aerodynamic selections.
