The bridge structure reliability evaluation and its design is an urgent problem in the engineering field in China, and is also a hot topic in academic and engineering fields both at home and broad. However, because of the ambiguous aims and factors of bridge structure reliability, the simple evaluation model and the incomplete index system, it becomes difficult to evaluate the bridge safety, applicability and durability exactly. With the various and ambiguous aims and factors of the bridge structure reliability taken into consideration, the author uses the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method in fuzzy mathematics to present the uncertain information quantitatively and also uses the fuzzy operation to get a comprehensive evaluation matrix. According to this comprehensive evaluation matrix, determine the factor domain, its weight and evaluation vector in different levels and set up the evaluation model with the concrete features of bridge structure into account. Then the bridge structure reliability can be valued with this evaluation model. This paper mainly discussed the questions as follows:1,Give a brief literature review of the structure reliability theory based on the former research, including the basic concepts, principles and methods in structure reliability analysis, and the basic method in structure system reliability analysis.2,Compare the advantages and disadvantages, the problems and the application scope in the present reliability analysis methods. Then put forward the methods and bases of the structure reliability evolution based on fuzzy mathematics.3,According to the character that there exist many ambiguous factors in the bridge structure reliability evaluation, the ideas of fuzzy mathematics are merged into the evaluation of the bridge construction reliability, then try to quantify the ambiguous factors.
