Floor-steel silos are widely used in the agriculture, mining industry, the chemical industry, the electrical power and so on. But the complex stress situation and the traditional simple design method sometimes causes the silo accident. In this paper, the project of Floor-steel silo of alumina powder is taken as an example, three dimensional silo models is established, simulated the seismic analysis of steel silo using finite element numerical analysis software of ANSYS.According to the different parts of contact and coupling between materials and silo wall, three finite element models is established and calculated by spectrum analysis, the response of structure for three models are compared with design standard. Through inputing the wave of EL-Centro, the models is calculated by the time interval analysis and compared with the calculating results between finite element models and design standard.According to calculate the structure by spectrum analysis and the time interval analysis, and compared with the results of design standard, indicating that the friction between material and silo wall has decreased the function under in the course of earthquake; the stiffness of material can weaken earthquake response in a certain extent, these three factors can reduce the earthquake response of silo structure.
