The properties such as brittleness, adhesion, permeability, corrosion-resistance, weather-resistance, crack-resistance, abrasion-resistance and so on of polymer cement materials (PCM) prepared by adding polymer latex and additives into the ordinary Portland cement can be modified or improved significantly. In the present work, some polymer latex and their composites were used to modify the properties of the cement mortar. And the effects of additives including the defoamers, plasticizers, rheology agents and short fibers on the strength, elongation and durability of the modified materials were also studied. Therefore, the optimization of the formulation and operation for preparing PCM was carried out, on the basis of which, two kind of PCM products including polymer modified flexible cement mortar and polymer modified water-proofing cement coatings were manufactured. These two products were also successfully applied in the construction in practice and the application summary was proposed in the thesis.
