Currently, the problems of building leakage and pavement cracks are urgently to be solved by technicians. Because of relatively backward of China's traditional building materials industry, poor performance of material and overload, crack phenomena appears on engineering structure after building completed. The further damage is prompted on engineering structure. Thinking of this problem, polymer is used to modify traditional mortar and improve its properties of strength and toughness, in order to attain the purpose of repairing building leakage and road surface cracks. In doing this new polymer modified mortar is developed and polymer in engineering application category is broadened.For polymer as a leading factor, the properties of cement mortar are studied in this paper. The modification mechanics of three kinds of polymers modified cement mortar are respectively analyzed by microscopic test method of scanning electron microscopy (SEM).The mainly research contents are as follows:The influence of external and internal factors on the performance of the mortar is studied by changing the type and dosage of polymer and using different mode of agitation and maintenance conditions; The physical properties of newly agitated mortar and the mechanics properties of sclerosis mortar are studied; The microscopic structures of polymer modified cement mortar are tested by SEM in order to analysis its modification mechanism.The results of the study indicate that polymer has good modification effect to cement mortar. With the increase dosage of polymer dosage, cement mortar is gradually developed to be a kind of flexible material, and its strength is improved; The working performance of newly agitated mortar is obviously improved by Polymer emulsion; The results of SEM analysis show that the polymer emulsion can fully film in cement forming incomplete continuous and close-grained space nets structure, which make structure to be more density.
