An Optimation Rearch On The Urban Form Of Guiyang City

This paper contains two aspects of theory and practice. In the part of the theory, the paper expatiate the study, positioning and design of urban morphology are the main contents of contemporary urban design. The specific urban morphology is embodiment of the relationship between people and environment, and the excellent urban morphology is the atmosphere, the characteristics,the ideas and the cultural differences,which refines the image and feature of city. Urban design coordinating guides the birth and development of city. Whether or not the urban design is successful will directly affect the image and of city. So urban design must meet and obey the objective demand of urban morphology. It is the key of the birth and development of city that form design of city must obey the city evolvement and development rules, and urban design must combine a special feature and style of city. In the part of the practice, this paper introduced the growth and development of city, in order to analyze the urban formation evolution of Guiyang city, and explore the main identity of Guiyang city. Based on the example of Guiyang city, author discussed the importance of form design, and the crucial factor for understanding urban image and features in urban design. Moreover, some measures are proposed to provide references for characteristic of mountain city, Guiyang.
