Gas-fired infrared radiant heating system is one of the advanced heating forms in the world at present. It is mostly applied in industry buildings. Infrared heating transmitted the energy by means of low-intensity electromagnetic waves, which is different from traditional convection heating manner. The temperature field of the subway coach garage applying this kind of heating system was simulated and measured in the study, and the energy consumption was also analyzed in this dissertation. According to the results of the simulation and the energy consumption analysis, energy-saving design and installation was provided for infrared heating technology to be used in this kind of coach garage.To validate the coach garage model, at first temperature field test was carried out in the garage, and then the Airpak simulation was carried out with the test data as the boundary conditions. Airpak simulation results were used to evaluate and optimize the design and installation form of the infrared heating technology. A new form was put forward based on the results of the simulation, that the infrared heater was installed above each railway. Subsequently, the temperature fields of the new form with any amount of engines in the garage were discussed. The air temperature in the area where need to heat satisfied the lowest request, above 11℃, in present design condition. Temperature gradient is little in vertical direction in the region under 4.5 meters, and the temperature was almost uniform on the same height horizontal plane, and the temperature of the exterior-protected construction was 1 to 2℃higher than the air temperature around it.Energy-Plus, which is good at energy consumption analyzing, was used to calculate the energy consumption of the coach garage with the average temperature simulated by Airpak. One representative winter day in Tianjin was chose to calculate, and the research reveals that the new form of gas-fired infrared radiant heating system was more economic than the form in existence. The energy saving capacity was different when the amount of the engines in the garage was different. And when 5 to 6 lines engines in the garage the energy saving rate was 33.4%, which was the best, and the worst moment appeared when the garage was full and the energy saving rate was 4.7%.
