The number of effected factors of modern ship fire risk is increasing. But engine room is the heart of ship, which is the most important in ship fire protection management. There are many equipments and pipelines in the engine room, and the accessory is aging because of perennial using. So the probability of fire in engine room is very great. In this paper, based on the analysis and discussion of the present fire risk assessment methods, the feasibility of the evaluation on the engine room fire with the Fuzzy synthesized assessment was systematically researched. The validity of the evaluation theory and the methods were proved by the practical samples. In this paper, I have realized the kinds of the factors of being on fire by collecting data firstly. Then the evaluation indexes of the fire risk of the engine room were established. Secondly, the weights of the indexes were determined by AHP, the important degree of the index factors of the fire effect was preferably reflected based on the weights determination. And the standard of marking by experts was given. Thirdly, the fuzzy recognition model with the minimum of the sum of the broad sense distance of the weights was proposed to be applied in the fuzzy synthesized evaluation, and the evaluation model for the fire risk of the engine room was established based on the fuzzy recognition pattern.Lastly, the synthesized assessment method for the fire risk of the engine room was applied to the assessment of the fire tisk of oil skimmer, and the fire risk degree of the engine was acquire with the assessment theory and methods in this paper. This paper proves the fuzzy synthesized evaluation is valid, and that may lay a foundation to the fire risk evaluation of the ship for the future.
