The Study On The Matching Of Turbocharger-Intercooler System And Diesel Engine

This dissertation elaborates turbocharger-intercooler system's important meaning for modern diesel engine at first.A device, called as turbocharger test bench, is introduced, with which we can obtain the turbocharger performance. More details of a comprehensive test bench is introduced, including its principle and structure. Compressor performance, turbo performance, and self-circulation performance are available on this test bench. Combined with the compressor, turbo performance and self-circulation test on S3B turbocharger, the test steps, the expression method of compressor, turbo performance and the computer input of compressor map are presented in details.Point out the criterion of the matching of turbocharger and diesel engine. Two structure parameters of turbocharger: trim and A/R are explained, as well as their effects on the matching performance. GT4294 48trim compressor performance is also obtained on the test bench, by comparison with 56trim, trim's effect on compressor performance is presented.The cooling mode and the structure type of the intercooler are fixed on, for which two rationality computational method: logarithms average difference in temperature method andε-NTUmethod are summarized.GT4294 turbocharger was chosen based on its matching performance with WD615.46 diesel engine compared with that of S3B turbocharger. The rationality of intercooler is also checked by logarithms average difference in temperature method. GT4294 turbocharger was matched on WD615.46 diesel engine. At last, by the analysis of the matching curves composed of GT4294 compressor map and WD615.46 external characteristic, we can make a conclusion that the matching is successful.
