Researching on long-span bridge is currently one of the most important and actively in this field. This paper applied the virtual laminated element theory to a new type bridge structural—long span cable-truss bridge. The upper cable and down cable form the truss through anchor and hang cable. The two truss support the box girder and deck which has low rigid. This type bridge take advantage of the cable's tension properties . meanwhile taking advantage of the large rigid truss.A new kind of theory and calculating method which is suitable to cable supported bridges was developed in this paper. Cable element can include the structure's geometry nonlinearity and initial stress, Virtual laminated element has high calculating efficiency and good precision. Create a whole calculating method through large placement theory, cable element and virtual laminated element.
