Long-span steel truss arch bridge, with its majestic appearance, spanning capacity and carrying capacity of many advantages, is favored by many designers. But, the research of the long-span steel truss arch bridge, especially such a bridge during the operational phase, is relatively absence. Currently limited documents can be retrieved.Taking Chongqing Chaotianmen Yangtze River Bridge as engineering background, this thesis reviews the long-span steel truss arch bridge history of domestic and international, studies the structure properties of its whole. Static characteristic at various loads and critical conditions are analyzed and summed up. Temperature effect at same level is investigated by improving the initial finite element model, more accurately simulating the connection of bridge panels, beams and truss nodes in this thesis. Then, in-depth research is made for the problem of plate-truss temperature difference which impacts the joint of the main truss structure and deck department. The cause of the problem is being explained. After comparing with different options, program of connection of deck-truss on the local scale is adopted. Finally, static stability at operation stage is analyzed under different loading conditions. Influence factors of structure stability are explained by pictures.
