| Through consulting the relevant documents and using theories and methods of urban planning, urban geography,humane geography,culture geography, historical geography and other correlative subjects,the dissertation reviews the development processes of humanistic influence on both Chinese and Western urban planning theories. From the perspective of practice,the dissertation discusses the contributions made by both Chinese and Western urban planning theories to urban construction and urban culture. Through the comprehensive and comparative studies, the dissertation analyzes the same and different characteristics in the development of two kind of culture and, therefore, strives to put forward of a solution to solve the problem of inheriting Chinese traditional urban culture and a way to make brands for Chinese cities.The paper concludes four parts:Based on consuling and concluding the various research references, the first part defines two important concepts—humane tradition and urban culture , and explains their characteristics. Then I discus the research meanings of the dissertation.The second part reviews, analyzes and compares the development processes of humanistic influence on both Chinese and Western urban planning theories, including Chinese ancient philosophy such as Confucianism and Taoism and western theories such as Howard,Gidez and Mumford.The third part studies the histories of urban planning in Tianjin and the forming process of the city culture, and this part also combines the Chinese urban planning theories in the second part.The forth part studies the histories of urban planning in Paris, and this part also combines the Western urban planning theories in the second part.The fifth part analyzes and compares the city forming processes of Tianjin and Paris , icluding culture developments of these two cities.The last part concludes the main thoughts of the dissertation, striving to put forward of a solution to solve the problem of inheriting Chinese traditional urban culture and a way to make brands for Chinese cities. |
