Studies On The Application Of Residential Construction In Modern Architecture Base On The Design Of The First Shopping Alley In Houma Area Of Shanxi Province

With the globalizing of world economy and information, the permeation of culture between China and west have led the growing convergent of Chinese local culture and the lost of cities' characteristics. As a large number of buildings with local geographical characteristics have been replaced by the modern architecture of reforced concrete, the cities lost their traditional cultural accumulation and look the same. The outstanding traditional Chinese culture and architectural thought are hard to be sustained and reflected. Therefore, seeking for a new form of building which can not only meets people's material and spiritual needs of life but also embodies the traditional Chinese context becomes the first imperative for Chinese architect.As a practical case, analyzing and summing up the design experience of the First Shopping Alley in Houma area of Shanxi Province can bring a reference to the research of modern architecture technique. The design focuses on how to merge the traditional architectural style and features of shanxi into modern architecture in order to shape the buildings' overall outlook of this region. It would be mainly considered from three aspects. The first is the architectural texture. Organizing the modern architecture group based on the analysis and sum-up of building texture of traditional houses. The second is the scales of building space. Studies on how to continue the building scales of traditional alleys and courtyards as designing a modern shopping alley. The style of architecture is the third. Extracting and restructuring the traditional forms and elements, and then embody them into modern buildings, in order to implicate the traditional cultural and reflect the geographical context.Based on the actual project, the paper not only generalizes the design technique of shanxi traditional folk house, which is inherited and showed in modern commercial architectural, but also discusses the way of conversation between the tradition and modernization. Finally, the paper concludes the design of the first shopping alley in Houma area of Shanxi Province, and studies the development of traditional design ideal that is inherited in modern architecture.
