Levee management of the construction project is a complex project, which includes the progress, quality, personnel, contracts, materials, machinery, finance, and many other aspects of the document, and construction lines of dike is long, and limited corporate project management financial, material and personnel, the traditional practice of project management can not play potential role. How intuitive, scientific, efficient, clear and complete description of the construction of dynamic process, the level of modernization is the key to management. Therefore, the search for new technology and computer-aided design methods become an inevitable trend. GIS is developed rapidly in recent years in a geo-spatial data and the integration of new computer space information technology, it organically combine spatial position with related of the real world to meet the users of spatial information management, and use its unique spatial analysis and visualization of functional expression to various decision-making assistance. Through computers and GIS, will enable a large number of complex information orderly, so that the management more intuitive, more stringent and more systematic.Based on the above reasons, this thesis mainly study GIS in the dike project construction management applications. Through combine Geographic Information System with the construction of dike project management process and take the Geographic Information System as a development platform using Visual Basic as a development language, research and design visualization of the dike project construction management system.Rely on the powerful 3D, map display, query, analysis and interactive features and so on of GIS, can be three-dimensional layout of the construction site and construction of three-dimensional dynamic progress, that rely on three-dimensional model of visual expression, e3ven non-professionals can easily understand the situation works. By the VB language support, the visualization constructing management system can achieve real-time record and real-time save and automatic calculation and management of engineering data, contracts, records, engineering quantity, settlement and so on. Automatic calculation features include: the landform and project superposition, automatically calculates the excavation and backfilling quantity; all kinds of information (including quality, investment, and progress) automatically collect from cell to branch.It can help project manager more efficient, comprehensive and the prior management and enable the project construction management more proactive.
