Study On Traffic Improvement Method For Protection Of Historical Culture Area In Beijing

Beijing is an 800-years-old capital with more than 3,000 years history of founding of city. It is a crystallization of the wisdom of the China. There are more than 800 national, municipal and district-level protection units distributed within this old city, which contain profound historical and cultural heritage. In recent years, with Beijing's rapid development and urban construction, protection of the old city zone becomes more and more instant. On one hand, Beijing old city zone is facing the unprecedented impact of many aspects. On the other hand, the same as most famous historical and cultural city, Beijing is also facing the old city local conditions'improvement with the worsening of overall environment.This study analyzed and summarized in the relevant research results and summed up the practical experience and lessons for traffic improvement in old city zone of Beijing. At the same time, absorbing advanced experience and in-depth analysis of the reasons for failure to Beijing old city historical and cultural protection. Based on the protection of the old city, this research viewed of the current Existing traffic problems, further explorated and study on the traffic improvement method of historical and cultural areas of the old city zone in Beijing. While established an evaluation method for traffic system of the old city cultural protection area. Expected making appropriate traffic demand management policy, this research also proposed some traffic organization and management measures.At the same time of protection of historical and cultural heritage in Beijing old city zone, this research solved the existing traffic problems. The research results can be used directly for guidance and assistance of improvement, policy-making and management of transportation system in Beijing old city zone in the future.
