It is the effective way of solving the existing city traffic problem to develop urban mass transit. In the initial stage of the urban mass transit's construction, it is necessary to provide traction calculation for urban mass transit, which can provides absolutely necessary reference on the theory and practice for the development of the rail traffic. The paper explains the characteristics and methods of the traction calculation for urban mass transit in detail, and chooses the rigidity militia-particle model as the model of traction calculation, and establish simulation model of traction calculation for urban mass transit vehicle. Then the paper studies deeply on the theories of modular design, and uses the modular design method to design the traction calculation program for urban mass transit. Based on these, the simulation calculation program is implement by C -H- language under VC ++6.0 environment. The software can provide the effective basis and auxiliary way for the calculation of energy consumption, the calculation of vehicle speed and time, the analysis of traction power-supply system. The paper uses the traction simulation software to calculation the GuangZhou Subway Line 4 and Line 5, and gets the calculation results and export curves. The simulation result has reference value to exert the traction ability of vehicles, arrange vehicle's schedule and economize energy. The software operates simply and conveniently, and the calculative precision and function of the software is advanced. The software can run stably and implement the former designed function through the test which uses the project date. So the software is strong pertinence and has important practical value.
