Inlet-outlet have the characteristic of two-flow directions in water flow system of pumped storage power station and also need to adapt water level variety multifarious, a larger amplitude characteristics, so the water power condition is more complicated. Have a prominent position is important in the design of the power station, the research reasonable type of figure can not only economize a great deal of funds, but also can improve the whole water power condition which lose water system in the engineering the fulfillment, It will produce huge economic performance and social performance..The side inlet-outlet design mainly is experience and physical model which has already set up engineering according to the abroad experiment to choose type of figure parameter. See from the research data there has been, the body type research of the inlet-outlet is mainly depend on hydraulic model at home and abroad. Along with the development of calculator, the numerical simulation has got widely application. Before water work building's design basically with model experiment is basis, not only time-consuming and wasting material resource, also be subjected to scale effect can't completely reflect true turbulent to flow a fluxion circumstance. comparing with it, the numerical simulation cost a little money, the orientation ability be strong, can provide to flow a data in detail, easy to project comparison etc. the numerical simulation of complicated water current phenomenon and flow the internal structure of field more and more attention, some international research institute which possess great reputation carry on with model experiment in the past and now take numerical simulation as main research means.The paper mainly carry on a research and simulation to water supply system to the inlet-outlet of the pumped storage power station, the main contents are as follows.1. Collecting a lot of the latest data of the pumped storage power station, also a detailed discussion to the pumped storage power station on the present condition and development, inlet-outlet of the present condition and development, compared with the side inlet-outlet and vertical pipe inlet-outlet etc .studying on the ingredient of side inlet-outlet.2. Established the simple model of side inlet-outlet, using the normalκ-εtheory, analysis of water flow impact of divergent portion, hole entrance, under vortex precaution beam to generate electricity. Comparison and analysis of the effect of different plans of the hydraulic characteristics, calculating various type of figure of water head loss coefficient, determination of optimum body type, the emphasis has provided reliable basis to the change of the position of the effect flow for the inlet-outlet optimization.3. It provides reference for more research on divergent portion and flow characteristics of the power generation condition, study on the cause of the back velocity to the hole entrance. Establishing the 3D numerical model of inlet-outlet outflow, the key simulations of the vortex prevention segment and divergent flow of the two kinds of body types the rectangle vortex precaution beam and ladder vortex prevention beam based on the existing design of the inlet-outlet body type, calculating the head loss coefficient, the uneven velocity coefficient, flow proportion, dynamic water pressure of the inlet-outlet. through comparison of the model test data, the ladder vortex precaution beam is recommended...
