According to the deforming feature of Cold-formed Lipped Channel Column, we decide to add diaphragms to Cold-formed Lipped Channel Column to improve the load capacity. From the experimental studies of 16 Columns with different eccentricities, we can find that the Cold-formed Lipped Channel Column with diaphragms can improve the ultimate strength and buckling loads. Compared with the Cold-formed Lipped Channel without diaphragms, we can conclude that (1) the increase range is from 10% to 50%, and the distance between diaphragms is shorter the effect is better. (2) Adding diaphragms at the point of half-wavelength is the most effective and economic way to increase the ultimate strength and buckling loads. This paper further simulates the mode with the ABAQUS to gain a useful model, evaluate the influence of initial imperfection and bilateral eccentricity .Test results are compared with those from the finite-element analysis. According this compare, we can conclude that after adding the influence of initial imperfection and bilateral eccentricity the ABAQUS results are very close to the test results.
