Abstract/Summary:
In rencent years, the cold-formed steel has been more and more popular in building constructions. As one of several strength-governing modes, distortional buckling is receiving more attentions. Based on the existing achievements around the world on the distortional buckling, We know that when distortional buckling happens, the flange and the lip will rotate about the flange-web junction.According this deforming feature,we decide to increase connecting bar between the two lips to improve the load capacity.Experimental studies are made to explore the distortional buckling behavior of the cold-formed c-section under axial and eccentric load. According to conclude and analyse the test results, check the method we have been bring forward and how to arrange the connecting bar, when the lips spacing are a quarter of half-wave,the improvement is most effective and the there will be 10%—20% improvement. This paper further simulate the mode with the ABAQUS to gain a useful model, evaluate the influence of initial imperfection and bilateral eccentricity .Test results are compared with those from the finite-element analysis.
