At present, most CAD applications can automatically transform assembly drawings from 3D to 2D; nevertheless, the complexity and enormous information of the drawing such as dimensioning, filling the column of the title and the subsidiary etc. will reduce the intelligence and make mistakes easily. These greatly restrict the efficiency of the whole system.In order to solve the problems mentioned above, after researching the characteristics of assembly drawing, Hydraulic Manifold Blocks (HMB) assembly object projecting from 3D to 2D view, automatic dimensioning for components and the automatic generation for the column of title and parts list, an effective method was summed up and the automatic generation procedure was realized.The whole dissertation is organized as follows:Firstly, beginning from optimizing result of the database, by using the information of HMB and components, the data was prepared for the later work. The algorithms of 3D geometrical transformation and projection transformation were thoroughly studied, and then automatic constructing of the three orthogonal projections of HMB objects was realized.Secondly, automatic dimensioning algorithm for assembly drawing of HMB was developed. Base on the characteristics of assembly drawing of HMB, the rules of selecting marking point and leading lines, which solves the problem of dimension lines interference and drawing layout, were presented. The rules also can be implemented for correctly layout part numbers.Finally, according to the characteristics of the technical requirements and title bar of assembly drawing, a database was established, and the technical requirements and content of title bar are correctly created by human-machine interaction.Above all, HMB assembly drawing automatic generation system is an important component which belongs to the optimizing design system of HMB. It was developed based on the MDT platform, using Visual C++ 6.0 and ObjectARX.
