The Automatic Identification System can be used in ECDIS,Navigation Mark Remote Control and Remote Sensing System and Ship's Position Reporting System and so on.If they work together,they can assist navigation,improve shipping safety,advance ability of identification and provide a new abservation method.They will bring communication on the sea into network age.But,if you want them work together,you should based on the information that the Automatic Identification System exports.Because the information that the Automatic Identification System exports is unclear,so you should first decode the data and check it if you want to use it.Consequantly,decoding data and checking it is a key technology of the Automatic Identification System's application.On the basis of studying the AIS's principle of communication,this paper analyzes the format of the information, gives a thorough research on the resolution of the data which is transmitted through AIS, and gives a detailed elaboration of Cyclic Redundancy Check(CRC).At last, it introduces the programming method.I have used this program to decode the data which was collected from the AIS device in the lab.It has proved that the program is correct.
