Study On Historical Culture And Environment Characteristics Of Nanjing Temple Garden

Temple garden is a theme in the history of Chinese garden. Chinese temple garden is famous for its abundant landscape, artistic conception, Buddhist culture in the world. It can enhance Nanjing cultural connotation and provide abundant landscape resources for ancient Nanjing by researching Nanjing temple garden culture. This paper did the research of the cultural connotation, environmental characteristics of Nanjing temple garden focused on history. Through analyzing ancient literatures in the important historical period of Nanjing temple garden history, the paper carried out lengthways study from the point of history and broadened the way of development for Nanjing temple garden. To give references for the protection and developing planning of Nanjing temple garden, the paper researched from these aspects of Nanjing Buddhist culture, temple garden historical culture and environment features.Firstly, this paper researched the Chinese Buddhist culture and Nanjing Buddhist culture as the base culture. Buddhist culture is a special and complicated composition of culture, with rich spirit resources and aesthetics values of mind and knowledge. As a "Buddhist academic center", Nanjing was famous as notable Buddhist position and remarkable Buddhist artistic achievements in the world. Secondly, the paper took Buddhism culture as background culture to study the development of history and culture connotation. As the political center, economic center and cultural center in the southern area of Yangtze River, Nanjing promoted coming out and rapid development of the temple garden, with the unique natural landscape condition, cultural advantage of ancient capital and the syncretism of "Xuan" and Buddhist culture. The ancient aesthetics and spirit of ancient scholar added the cultural accumulation to Nanjing, and promoted the development of Mountain-river garden. Finally, the environmental characteristics of Nanjing temple garden was researched. Temple garden includes rich traditional culture and unique features as Buddhist culture. The paper studied the address seclection, constructions in natural areas, artistic space conceptions, plant conceptions and the design of water to analyse the special culture of Nanjing temple garden. And through taking Qixia temple and Lingu temple as the examples of including the special mind and art, the paper focused on the influence of historical culture, and carried out the process of dynamic development of Nanjing temple garden.
