The Research On The Modality Of Counties' Traditional Residence In Mid Hunan

This research is in the initial stage of groping for urban construction pattern and the early period of rapid development of local economy in Mid Hunan. Mid Hunan inherits the civilization of several millenniums history, but the traditional residence here has been actually facing the danger of vanishing. Especially the attention to the traditional residence in counties is inferior to the ones in the big cities and the general countrysides. The research on the counties'traditional residence still retains on the feeble level.Nowadays the traditional residence is only saved in the edge area of counties. They have been divided into pieces by the tall buildings, and hidden in the city. From the investigated objects, I should admit that the research has some limitations, but they reflect the local traditional residence's style in Mid Hunan in a large extent. The counties'traditional residence has profoundly reflected the general populace's survival condition in Chinese modern times and the folk-custom of Mid Hunan. They form modern Hunan's partial and bitty impression, and clearly outline the local emotion in the people's memory by intensely apperceiving. This research is for the purpose of providing the valuable model and the powerful cultural support for the regional characteristic architecture design.With the factualistic attitude, this paper sums up the traditional residence from following four aspects:Elaborate the city life environment of counties'traditional residence from the sociological angle combined with fieldwork and visiting the local denizen;Analyze the concrete modality of Mid Hunan's traditional residence in the plane, the elevation, the structure, the decoration and the physical environment, by unifying the on-the-spot mapping and the photography materials in the angle of architecture;Search after the regional characteristic of Mid Hunan's traditional residence and the time expression formed by its own variational development, by placing construction in macroscopical background influenced by factors of nature, society, culture and history; Inquire into reasons of destruction of the counties'traditional residence, and make suggestions for the possible protection ways, according to the grievous present situation of Mid Hunan's traditional residence.
