Traditional residence is an important part of traditional architecture of our country,and it is closely contacts with living and production of people. It has flexible design, reasonable function, economical structure and unadorned appearance. Moreover,it inosculates with entironment and has the characteristic of nationalities and provincialism. It is an precious legacy of traditional architecture of our country .Northeast China, which consists of Heilongjiang,Jilin,Liaoning,is characterized by harsh contrasts and varied landscapes. Hard winters and very warm summers are characteristics of Northeast China's climate. The region is mainly of the Han nationality, while the custom of every nationality is different according to the producing mode and varied traditional residence is formed in the communication and incorporation as well as the culture, but national feature is still preserved.This text try to analyze systematically many aspects of Northeast residence such as plane modality, dimensional modality, tectonic technique , residential culture and so on. Through summarized the municipal methods of keeping pace with the hard weather , social economy condition, national culture and concluded the regionally characteristics of constructing technique in Northeast to grasp the detailed process of construction from location choice to finishing , have an understanding of the relationship of the residential culture and constructing and further more. The study offer help to protect and renew traditional residence, develop the feature construction of cities and carry forward the traditional culture.
