China has experienced the serious problem of large peak load growth rate due tothe economic booming. As an effective measure of Demand Side Management(DSM),the application of interruptible load (IL) can enhance load flexibility andrelieve power shortage in network. Interruptible load is a method in which thecustomers sign an interruptible load contract with the utility to reduce their demand atthe fixed time of system peak or any time requested by utility. The important issue ininterruptible load management is to design a reasonable rate of interruptible load.This paper firstly builds an interruptible load mathematical model and anoperational mechanism for inspiring interruptible load to participate the powershortage management is also proposed. The use of IL in electric network managementis a problem that involves different conflicting aspects such as reducing peakdemand,maximizing utility profits and minimizing discomfort caused to consumers.Hence, the problem is multi-objective in nature and should be all explicitly accountedfor in mathematical models. In the method, the benefit of users was analyzed in viewof economics, a reasonable method for load-shedding compensation is proposed, thismechanism inspires customers to apply for rational compensation.We conducted a study of interruptible load management, trend analysis based ondynamic optimization, based on the costs theory, reserve service model based onlong-term contracts, competitive demand side. incentive compatibility interruptibleload management model, and we compared the advantages and disadvantages ofeach application.We have studied the Hangzhou interruptible load management model. Thecomputational simulation of a typical user survey data verified the correctness andfeasibility of the model. Based on information entropy method for the analysis of therelevant attributes we establish a decision tree model. In view of the power marketenvironment interruptible load a user attribute analysis and research.
