Semi-rigid materials asphalt pavement is one of the main structure form of our country. As the rapid development of transportation, the early damage in asphalt pavement becoming more and more serious, the heavy load has become one of the important factors in affecting road performance and shorten the useful life of the pavement. In order to reduce road maintenance, to reform our country 's asphalt pavement design concepts, and to increase the life expectancy of the road is an inevitable trend. How to achieve perpetual pavements under the heavy load transportation is the direction of pavement structures and materials study.In structural analysis, this paper on the basis of analyzed research results at home and abroad, proposed the design concept of the heavy load transportation perpetual semi-rigid asphalt pavement; through the analysis of the characteristics of heavy load transportation and the load schema, proposing the design principles, the material technical requirements and pavement structure combination applies to the heavy load transportation perpetual semi-rigid asphalt pavement; analyzing the affection to asphalt pavement of the heavy load by using BISAR procedures, and checking the reasonable of the pavement structure thickness.In material research, we propose to carry on the optimized design to asphalt pavement by using the SAC material design method and two-stage test, which proposed by academician SHA Qing-lin, and innovation applied to semi-rigid base, thus proposed optimization mix ratio SCC-25 and SCC-20; carring on the comprehensive road performance contrast test to three kinds of asphalt mixture (A-70,A-30,SBS modified asphalt), to provide experimental basis for the application of the high viscosity base asphalt and skeletonis dense Gap-graded.Study found that, based on the situation of our country, semi-rigid material asphalt pavement is still the research focus. Road construction and testing evaluation shows that the optimization mix ratio of semi-rigid base is feasible; adopting the skeletonis dense Gap-graded and the high viscosity base asphalt A-30, are two effective means to resolve the current early damage in asphalt pavement.
