The two-way arch bridge was firstly built in Wuxi County of Jiangsu province. Because of the merits in the structure, such as novelty, light, saving material, convenient for construction, with Chinese national characteristics, the two-way arch bridge spread all over the country, and were the most models of arch bridges built in our country in 1960s. They made a great contribute for the development of our country's highway and bridge causes. However, due to various reasons, most two-way arch bridges were serious damage in the use of a period of time, not be able to meet the needs of today's traffic. Two-way arch bridge as a product of the times, it is undesirable if dismantled tens of thousands already completed two-way arch bridge at all. Meanwhile, in order to needs of the transport growth, part of two-way arch bridge will continue to exist, must be reinforcing, to increase their capacity.This paper introduces the status of China's two-way arch bridge, the problems of two-way arch bridge, as well as two-way arch bridge reinforcement method. Then introduced two-way arch bridge reinforcement technology status, disease conditions, and introduction of the main thesis. This paper elaborated on the"ER method"the principle of reinforcement arch bridge and this principle applied to the two-way arch bridge reinforcement."ER method"reinforced arch bridge is a new technology, different from the conventional methods of reinforcement. It is through the release of the internal forces of the foot arch, reducing the original arch feet too much negative moment in the whole arch"re-allocation of internal forces", improve the status of the bridge, the old bridge to enhance capacity. Through analysis, draw the general mechanical model and calculation method of"ER method"reinforced two-way arch bridge. The calculation methods were"AIM"to calculate structure force of ER arch bridge and ER arch bridge structure calculation procedures SNGQ. The procedures to Microsoft Excel with VBA as a carrier, under the premise of users input data at least, it can automatically completed all forced data calculations of ER arch bridge structure.This paper use Fengle River Bridge reinforcement as an example, a detailed analysis of the use of Fengle River Bridge"ER method"reinforcement of the structure. Through analysis, the Fengle River Bridge carrying capacity has been greatly improved after reinforced, to meet the needs of the normal operation of the bridge. At the same time, proving that"ER method"reinforcement technology about two-way arch bridge was reliability and practicability once again.Finally, the paper elaborated on the approaches and construction technology of"ER method"reinforced two-way arch bridge.
