| The emergence of railway double-stack container transportation (DST) is a revolution in the history of container transportation. It is the direction of our country's railway goods transport, which can reduce operating costs per unit by 25～40% and raise transport capacity by at least 30%. Many technical conditions of railway double-stack container transport corridor need to be further studied because our country's DST is still at the initial stage.On the basis of summarizing experience of foreign DST and development reality of domestic DST, principles of selecting a double-stack container transport corridor were analyzed in this paper. Also methods of economy evaluation on a double-stack container transport corridor were brought forward, and the economy and social benefits of a new corridor were discussed through which special traffic volume forecasting model was established. Then the clearance and axle load conditions of a double-stack container transport corridor were determined. At last model selection of special car for double-stack container transport was analyzed. |
