Public Traffic Vehicle Monitoring System Research And Implement Based On GIS And GPS

With the development of social economic and information technology, ITS (Intelligent traffic system) emerged in the field of transportation. As the core of intelligent traffic system, vehicle monitoring system has become a hot research. Because the large number of bus in urban transportation, the problem that how to reduce vehicle traffic congestion effectively and improve the operating efficiency of public transport must be resolved quickly.This paper studied on the public traffic monitor system based on the integration of GIS and GPS. The system took the advantages of Real time location is the advantage of GPS and the geographic data can be showed visually is the advantage of GIS. The system took advantages of GPS and GIS. It realized the intelligent real-time monitoring, scheduling and management between the buses management center.This paper introduced the research status of GIS and GPS. Then, the basic theory of GIS and GPS was studied. The principle and structure of public transport monitoring system is analyzed. And on the basis of analysis, hardware and software design of this system were completed. And then, the key technology of system development is analyzed. The algorithm of real and logic map matching is introduced. Finally, the function, design and realization of public traffic monitor system is introduced.
