| Make a general observation of ship navigation system development of more than 900 years, it has experienced a development process that from primitive to modern, from machinery to electron, from manpower to automation, from local to the whole world, from the independence to integration. At present the Integrated Bridge System (IBS) centering on ECDIS can integrate and display various electron navigation equipments' information, which lightens the pressure of navigators, improves the ship seaway safety. However, the 2D ECDIS is the same as other 2D maps, whose nature is owing to abstract sign system, which is unable to reproduce the true face of nature and may cause the abstract ambiguity and bring difficulties to user during the identification and sign significance restoring. So the research and development of 3D ECDIS becomes an important developing trend.In this paper, after realizing the research situation of 3D GIS, studying the 3D GIS developing principles and methods, considering the characteristics of aquatic GIS carefully, finally fulfill the 3D ship navigation system based on component technology. The component technology is a software developing method under the standards of COM interface. Fallow this way the system realize the update, reuse of component and network application, etc. Producing the 3D scene data by mature 3D GIS technology, establishing the ship navigation synthesis database according to the demand of navigation, reforming the existing mature 2D ECDIS, develops the synchronized, interplay and weak-coupling 3D ship navigation system based on database and Socket communication in Visual C++ environment, realize the foundational functions and 3D visualization of navigation in 3D environment, forming a synthesis navigation system, which gives the first place to 2D platform and takes the 3D platform as subsidiary ultimately. The navigator may switch the system from 2D platform to 3D platform or reverse freely; it improves the ship seaway safety further. |
