Research And Realization Of Product Configuration Creative Design Based On Evolutionary Algorithm

With the continuous development of the social economy and the unremitting progress of science & technology, manufacturing industry has reached at an unprecedented high level and the techniques used in the process of producing product become more complicated. In current markets, all kinds of products with completed functions and different styles, have been improving people's living quality. At the same time, these products also change people's consumption concept. People treat new products with higher tastes and more requirements. Due to different consumption concepts and aesthetic perception, consumers' requirements about new products differ from person to person. Because of these reasons, product design has been becoming more and more difficult. It also causes more vigorous market competition directly. In order to hold the dominant position, enterprises have to put the important part of new product development at the product creative design. So the proposal of the best design project becomes the main goal of all designers in the shortest possible time.Product creative design reflects on the improvements of many aspects, such as functions, structures, configurations, materials and environment protection and etc. And the configuration creative design is one of those main aspects. Although traditional software CAD can aid product design, it still has no function for creative design. So it's not easy for the designer to design a new product by means of some commercial software CAD in short time. If there were some intelligent CAD that could aid product design with new concepts and stimulate designer's inspiration, it would raise design efficiency to higher level and even cause the revolution of modern product design.This thesis focuses on product configuration design. The importance and development of product creative design are analyzed. And creative design theories and methods are also discussed. Further more, based on evolutionary algorithm, the key technologies of product creative design are studied in more detail. The following research results have been obtained: (1) the product creative design is realized based on the binary tree structure genetic algorithm; (2) the project of product creative design is generated based on attribute-encoding & simple genetic algorithm. Finally, the author has developed a prototype system of product configuration creative design, and the product configuration creative design has been carried out successfully by means of this system.
