Research On Port Landscape Design And Appraisal Methodology

As an important component of coastal city, port plays an irreplaceable function in natural system and social system for a city, such as: water resource, transportation, recreation, city image and ecological function, etc. Modern port city is not only the crucial node of global logistics chain, but also the center of finance and logistics, cumulative effect of port and diversity functions of city become the core competence for a port city. In order to supply bright scenery for the city, port needs to keep and strengthen its characteristic.As an indispensable part of development plan for a city, port construction and coastal area development become a complicated and synthetical problem, which is composed of city planning, port planning, landscape ecology, behavior psychology, gardens ecology, architecture, etc, so it is decided that port landscape design should meet the demand of characteristics and multi-angles in different cities. Designers need to take port landscape design as an important aspect of city landscape, and also need to take urban master landscape and related specific plan into consideration.The research focused on two aspects of design approach and landscape appraisal in port-coastal area. The paper systematically studied the theory and method of the harbor landscape design, on the basis of the analysis of relevant theories. The research of harbor landscape appraisal is divided into two parts: the ecology appraisal of port landscape and the quality appraisal of landscape design. The former is focused on the macroscopic level of regional planning, and the latter is researched from the microscopic level of landscape design. On the appraisal of landscape ecology, the paper analyzed related research results, and to propose appraisal method of landscape ecology based on PLM, In addition, it also conducted the fundamental research to landscape influence forecast. On the appraisal of landscape design quality, the paper formulates landscape appraisal method based on VRM-LCJ which demonstrated model reliability from the theories and experimental result through sampling and analyzing the example.The paper advances landscape plan system that are multi-objective and complex for modern port, which promote the research and application of interdisciplinary sciences, and also raise the engineering designers to pay attention to the landscape design. Moreover, the research provide theoretical basis for developing city and perfecting relative laws.
