The adjustable-speed system of switched reluctance motor has manyadvantages for its simple structure, agile system control, better adjustablespeedcapability and excellent dynamic capability. In recent score of years,the research on switched reluctance motor and adjustable-speed system hasdeveloped rapidly.At the beginning of the research on the brake state ofswitched reluctance motor (the second and fourth quadrants) ,this paper takesa 3kw switched reluctance motor as the research object, and studies theregenerative braking function of the fourth quadrant. The main points asbelow:1. A study of the excitation process and the theory of mechanics andelectricity power conversion of switched reluctance motor while theregenerative braking functions has been made ,also the math model while theregenerative braking is functioning has been analyzed. It has been analyzedthat three kinds of control method while the regenerative braking of switchedreluctance motor is functioning and these three control methods have beencompared. Basing on this, the project which is adopted in this paper has beendetermined.2. The hardware circuit of switched reluctance motor regenerativebraking control system based on DSP56F803 has been designed and debugged also the relevant software procedure has been compiled Hardwarecircuit has realized the functions of adjusting speed, current cut control, rotorposition checking and measuring and so on; and software has realized thefunctions of the closed loop control of rotate speed, phase on-off control,electrical current checking and measuring, rotate speed calculating and so on.3. In the existing condition, the correlative wave shape and curvethrough experiment while switched reluctance motor is functioning has beendeduced and analyzed, then, we come to the conclusion that switchedreluctance motor has good capability of brake and lay a foundation for nextresearch.
