Based on the retention original achievement, many new mentalities are founded. Basically the exploration of the modern architecture in Inner Mongolian area presents the national tendency, with absorption of the traditional characteristics. As a part of the Mongolian national culture, The Mongolian national decorative pattern represents the Mongolian national thought, their emotion, their spiritual style and the visual art form, which is tradition plastic arts treasure house which precipitates and accumulates in the long-term historical development process. Its composition, the design and the theme are important methods to manifest the national and regional characteristic. Carrying on the analysis and the research to them and melting into the architectural design domain will be an indispensable important attribute for developing the next Inner Mongolian area construction creation mentality.Based on a large number of pictures and the writing material, with carrying the careful induction analysis, this thesis focus on the exploration on the theme, the implication and the creation mentality of the Mongolian national traditional decorative pattern. Specifically, the mark study is applied as the methodology to understand the symbolic significance of the Mongolian national traditional patterns; through the analysis of the meaning of the designs and marks, the exploration of the cultural meaning behind the marks are undertaken to isolate it from its original culture background in order to modernize it; through techniques as simplification, induction, exaggeration or abstract change, entrusts it with its new idea and the form to create the new structure expression way of the tradition design; through their appropriate practice in the modern architecture, the nowadays society culture daily area, the folk custom development can be accomplished. At last, we can grasp the meaning of national culture with the aid of traditional design and the mark transformation form the significance.
