2006 Germany World Cup, a fantastic festival of football, was over, which attracted worldwide attention with its passion and fascination. It's considered that the commercialization of football game charmed more people's participation resulted from the interactivity between football game and economic-culture. As an important part of global economy, China's economy is also turning his attention to the football field. Moreover, the celebration of 2008 Beijing Olympic Games would further promote the development of the new concept "Technique, Green and Culture" in the modern architecture, which includes the development of sports building adapted for football game. Consequently, as a host country of 2007 Woman Football World Cup and an applicant for 2018 football world cup, China is believed to promise an extensive prospect in the construction of football stadiums.However, hardly is a trend of new generation conception in soprts building ignored, namely specialization and comprehension. On the other hand, traditional football stadium could not satisfy the requirement in both function and art. Therefore, architects usually devote themselves to design more innovate schemes of football stadium.The thesis with focus on professional football stadium design, studied most of previous world cup stadiums and global professional football stadiums. The new requirement of modern sports socialization and industrialization on the construction of professional football stadium was put forward based on the research and theoretical analysis. The design of professional football stadium was optimized to approach the new needs of modern football stadium.The study involved three parts as followed: introduction, text and conclusion. The first part concerned the background, purpose and content of the research. The method utilized in the research also was included. And then, the universalism of stadium design and the specialization of professional football stadium design were introduced theoretically in the text part. The comparing between foreign and Chinese football stadium was performed. And the theory of professional football stadium design was compiled according to the case study of classical professional football stadium. It consisted of the following aspects detailed in the definition and characteristics, developing motivation and trend, common theory of football stadium design, concrete design method and case study. The final part mentioned the emphasis of the thesis as a conclusion.
