As the important component of ship power system, the cable which used on ship plays animportant role of providing power for other electricity equipments and transferring signals.The marine cable is so easily aging or mangled, because of being used in ill-being for longtime. Aging cable is becoming the large hidden trouble for ships normal running. So thispaper will check and forecast the insulation and aging character of marine cable life, proposesome opinions scientifically to enhance the reliability of ship power system and avoid thewreck accident.At present, there is no normative technology standard and useful test methods forchecking the marine cable insulation character at home and abroad, so this experimentationwill use the mature checking method for cable insulation character in power system forreference, for instance, checking loss tangent of dielectric loss angle, method of electricpotential decaying, checking leakage current and insulation resistance, and etc. Thisexperimentation chooses the method of checking leakage current and insulation resistancefirstly.The CEF and CXFR cable are usually used on ship, so they are applied as the test samplefor the experimentation. The test sample are aged on temperature 120℃, 140℃and 160℃for 14 days in oven with artificial way. Then we check the leakage current and insulationresistance of test sample in atmosphere or in water. We classify and analyze the date whichmeasured in experimentation, then draw curve for it. After analyzing, we find out that theleakage current and insulation resistance's date is not suitable for forecasting the cable aginglife, because its intense fluctuates. It is useful for qualitatively judged cable's insulationcharacter good or not.Then we check the cable's mechanical character for forecasting the cable aging life inexperimentation. Using testing instrument we get the date of intensity of tension andelongation at break, after analyzing, we find that the date of elongation at break have betterdevelopment trend than intensity of tension, so it is used as parameter for forecasting themarine cable's life. The trend point of elongation at break is data fitted with exponentialfunction, then we get the function of two type cable at three temperature aged. Because lots ofelectrical wire and cable are made with Polymer Material, so they accord with chemicalreaction dynamics thermal aging function in certain temperature range aging. At last the paperintroduces how to get the mathematical formula of CEF and CXFR cable life aging withmethod of minimum square, and forecasts the life of CEF and CXFR testing cable in allowed temperature with the mathematical formula.
