On The Architectural Design Of Pagodaes Constructed In Liao Dynasty In Hebei

The buildings of Liao occupied the important position in the ancient history of buildings in China, which reserved the style of the constructions of Tang dynasty in many respects, providing many clues for the study of the developing courses of the Tang dynasty constructions. There were too many Liao buddhist pagodaes , their reasonable structure and beautiful shape mostly influenced the pagoda designing characteristics in the later time.Hebei province is between the Central Plains and the Great Wall. It is the transition region between the principle agriculture of China and the principle nomad beyond the frontier of the northern minority nations. Special nature and the human geographial position decided the special region and multicultural features embodied in the building of Buddha. This paper give deep discussion to culture content, plastic art, building structure, region special features and esthetics value of the Hebei Liao pagodaes from the angle of existing condition and regions.Using research method of investigatoin, statistic analysis, inspecting document, expert interview etc, This paper give argument about Tang, Song, Liao pagodaes in the form system and the art style, analysing the impact of Tang pagodaes to Liao pagodaes and Song pagodaes to Liao pagodaes, the building cultural vein between them, digging deep into the region characteristic of the Hebei Liao brick pagodaes, in order to reveal the design art characteristics of the Hebei Liao pagodaes.The shape of Hebei Liao pagodaes were handed down from the Miyan type pagodaes of liao dynasty in the northeast of China. At the same time it have the features of Song pagodas such as, plump and beauty characteristics, the beautiful structure, the scientific designs and so on. Meanwhile, the Hebei Liao pagodaes showed special region features in many ways. The Hebei Liao pagodaes are not only rich in the reference of the history, architecture and the archaeological studies, but also precious in art treasure-houses. The pagodaes were art delicacies with combined appreciation with function.Looking for the design art characteristics of the Hebei Liao pagodaes, exploring the cultural heritage of the traditional constructs with the consciousness of appreciation, enriching our building cultural content, are worthwhile for our reference to plan and design the modern city, to accelerate the construction and developing of the city, to create a modern architecture culture of China.
