The disabled person with the aid of auxiliary tools such as basketball wheelchair and so on participates in sports and matches. These can promote their health, enhance their vitality and their self-support ability in life. Through these sports and recreational activity, they harmonize with family and community comprehensively, and they feel fulfilled themselves. More important, the fact that disabled person participate in the basketball sports and matches add new value to the sports and beauty, enables them to enjoy life as normal person.The wheelchair basketball sport is a kind of sport with strong opposition. Mutual collision between wheelchairs can cause turnover or damage of the wheelchair, or even worse ,hurt the person in the wheelchair. So a good wheelchair not only provide person in it a comfort by matching personal sitting physic characteristic , but also have good stability and flexibility, to make sure they can get good achievement and avoid body injury caused by mutual collision to a larger extent in the serious competition.At present the domestically produced basketball wheelchair is mostly heavy and cumbersome with bad design. To participate in large-scale domestic or international sports event, our disabled athletes have to use imported wheelchair. So improve the design of the domestically produced basketball wheelchair, manufacture our own good performing basketball wheelchair have great significance .This article first carry on a thorough scene investigation on a kind of domestically produced basketball wheelchair, summarize its damage form, analyze the material and elaborate material selection and treatment process to improve intensity .Next, this article carry on finite element analysis computation on the wheelchair structure from four load operating modes, further proved that its intensity do not satisfy the operation requirements. Then improve the design of the main axle, anti-collision circle and center-of-gravity position .By utilizing man-machine engineering principle and advanced CATIA software, carry on man-machine engineering examination on wheelchair structure .Finally establish geometry model on the improved structure, carry on finite element analysis computation from four operating modes, prove that the intensity satisfy the operation requirements. According to the analysis on the domestic and foreign basketball wheelchair, carry on optimization design to the existing basketball wheelchair structure, confirm the new structure rationality, the scientific nature and the feasibility by using the finite element analysis.Through our work I think that we can improve wheelchair design, and help our disabled athlete get more achievement and give them more confidence in international matches.
