Tensegrity systems are spacial, reticulate systems in a stable selfstress state including a set ofintersecting struts and cables. Since the tensegrity's first appearance, its uniquely fancy characteristics haveseized people's curiosity so that more and more researchers begin working for it. From now on, thetensegrity researches are in its courses: imagination and geometry, topology and figure analysis, mechanicsanalysis and researches by experimentation, where mechanics analysis includes form-finding, selfstress law,working mechanism and the performances affected by the outside force.Following the popular course of tensegrity research, this paper starts with the research of the geometrymorphology. There are regular polyhedra and half regular polyhedra in this paper. In addition, there are lotsof special polyhedra considering the fancy, deep, rich forming characteristics of tensegrity. Moreover, thispaper introduces some tessellations and some particularly assembled figure patterns. The classification ofclassical tensegrity is usually by these geometric shape.Structure topology helps out the relationship of the struts and the cables and describing the originalform of tensegrity. Given the conditions such as prestressed modality, outside force manner, boundarycondition and material property etc., equilibrium conditions can be fixed using efficient arithmetic—form-finding. There are many form-finding method now, each of which fits for a particular structuralaiming to obtain more accurate results. This paper offers a form-finding arithmetic—this approach enlargesthe vector space making the mathematical structure of problem amendable to linear algebra treatment andmany variables are eliminated from the final existence equations. The results can be used for efficientalgorithms to design and simulate many tensegrity structures.In order to bring Chinese traditional artistic elements into tensegrity structure, this paper givesinnovations based on the theoretical research. The Jigui Tensegrity is designed following the philosophicalmeanings, scientific principle and artistic forms in Chinese traditional symbol—Taiji Picture and DougongTensegrity following the form of Chinese dougong—one of the unique forms in Chinese traditionalarchitecture. And handwork models are offered in this paper. Then, the software Ansys was used tosimulate the structure and analyze it using immobile force method obtaining the displacement of the nodeand the axial force of the element. Besides, the dangerous node and the stability of the structure arediscussed; the characteristic of the designed structure, the problem of actualizing the nodes and designeddirection were summarized.In the end, summarize the research process and advance the further view.
