To solve this imminent realistic problem, we might as well carry on thecalm ponder from the city image research. In recent years the city space imageresearch gradually emerged in our country's urban geography research field.Analyzing the city spatial structure through the city image is one of the modern cityspace research methods. Compared with other methods of city space research,analysis of the city space image has a major character which is to mainly study thecity inhabitant individual as well as the community's interaction on the urbanenvironment. And interaction is the foundation of human behavior decision-making.The sensation research method already became one of most commonly used methodsof gaining related society data of the city design and urban planning.The quality of urban space environment directly affact people's living quality.Agood city space environment may encourage person's behavior, otherwise, also maylimit certain behaviors. Therefore creating a humanized space environment is veryimportant. This article carries on the research by dividing the city space environmentinto two levels which are micro-space scene and the macro-space structure fromimage angle. And then analyzes in the difference of individual image. Thus weexplore to create a good urban space environment. This article analyses the image ofmicro-space scene and macro-space structure of Dalian by questionnaire, photorecognition and cognitive mapping. We also use factor analysis to make a study onwhat kind of micro-space are preferred by people. And means test as well as anovaanalysis is used to study the impact on personal image of the city caused by age, sexand education background. Hence we conclude that Dalian is able to be highly imagedas integration, and the most imageable areas are concentrated in the center of the city,plazas and beauty spots. The image of micro-space scene is affected by its function,areas, users, circumjacent environment and architecture noumenon. The image ofmacro-space structure is a framework which is upheld by road and with the residentialand business areas as its background. This framework is dotted with populationdistributing center and the buildings with certain features. As is affected by age, sexand education background, the image area in different person's mental shares adifferent size. Based on the findings and conclusions some suggestions are made forthe urban planning, tour planning, urban design and environment construction ofDalian.
