In the process of mechanical forestation, earth auger is important equipment; it will affectdirectly the speed and quality of forestation. So the important task of our country's pursuer is toexcogitate high-powered, low-cost and high-efficiency earth auger.According to engineering-oriented technicians, traditional design method waste time andpower, but modern design method based on computer put up advanced and easy idea. So thispaper applies modern design method in earth auger, has mainly done four things as following:1. The establishment of cutting model about earth auger's blade and its analysisThis paper establishes soil cutting model of earth auger's blade which is the important partof earth auger according to simple cutting theory, and analyses the fixing angle of bladethrough MATLAB, it is propitious to ascertain the angle of blade.2. Structure finite element analysis of principal axis and optimization designThis paper using finite element analysis software ANSYS does the structure stressanalysis of earth auger's principal axis, in the case of forcing, we can get the position ofextremum about stress and strain, it is propitious to optimization design; then gives theoptimization design model of principal axis and concretely steps according to optimizationprinciple, analyses the optimized data using MATLAB. On the premise of performance is notinfluenced, minimizes the weight of principal axis obviously, and achieves the aim ofoptimization design.3. The kinematics and dynamics analysis about hanging machine of earth augerFirst, this paper establishes three-dimension CAD model of earth auger throughPro/ENGINEER, does the kinematics simulation analysis of hanging machine, analyses thechanges of drill tip's position, velocity and acceleration, this makes the designer have the clearcognition of machine's speciality before manufacture, it improve also the efficiency ofproducts research.Second, this paper establishes dynamics equations set, and does the dynamics simulationanalysis to equations set using Matlab/simulink, educes each part's angular velocity, angularacceleration, force and moment at any time, and offering theory assistance for the design ofparts and choice of power; On the premises of ensuring quality, it shortens the cycle of designobviously.4. Benefits analysis of earth augerIn the end, this paper analyzes the zoology benefits, society benefits and economybenefits of earth auger, we can get the results that earth auger not only brings favorablezoology benefits and society benefits, but also has tremendous economy benefits and bigger market.
