| Earth dams are one of the most extensive buildings applied in the hydraulics engineering in our country. Earth dams have many virtues such as low cost, simple structure, strong adaptability, good performance of resisting earthquake and long life. In our country, many small and medium-sized earth rock-fill dams were constructed in 1950's or 1960's and the technology and economy were both want seriously in that time. All sorts of problems have appeared in working for many years, and problems such as infiltration, landslide, which caused by seepage, are very serious. So it is necessary to analyze seepage feasibly and correctly on earth rock-fill dams. For these reasons above, the work about seepage-analyzing for earth rock-fill dams is discussed in this paper.The basic theory and control formula of seepage problem were introduced in this article, with the similarity of seepage flow equations and heat equations, and according to comparison of the fundamental equations and boundary conditions, the ANSYS function of temperature field analysis is applied to that of seepage flow field. Use the APDL language to compile the seepage procedure to calculate tow-dimension steady seepage problem. The element birth or death technique with overlap method is adopted to calculate the free water surface site (saturation line), and solved the seepage flow stability problem with complex boundaries and mediums earth. The example shows that the seepage procedure of FEM is correct. The procedure been applied to the seepage analysis of Shibalibu dam of Gansu province, and the saturation lines were drawled.Through the results from the FEM for slope stability analysis, the distributing rule of stress, strain and deformation, plastic zone in the slope can be quantified; also the approximate position of gliding surface and safety factor can be gained. The safety coefficient on each point is calculated according to the calculated stress field using a finite element method program, and then the image of safety coefficients is plotted using the strong post-processor of ANSYS.An attempt on the development and improvement of calculation seepage free surface method is presented. Using the Temperature model of ANSYS to analysis the problems of seepage is more convenience and short cut. This method has more amplitude foreground. |
