Abstract/Summary:
Brain injury and stroke are prevalent in neural disease. Currently most therapy is physical technique. Patients have to receive treatment passively. The effect is undesirable and it burdens nurses with lots of work. Therefore, it becomes a significant goal for rehabilitation medicine that we should develop new therapy and medical instrument, lighten primary disorder, prevent secondary disorder and improve patients'life quality. In recent years, neuromuscular electrical stimulation has been widely used in the treatment of nerve recovering. It adopts current with low frequency to stimulate the muscle out of nerve control, make it contract, and substitute or restore the lost function organ and body.This paper develops under the above background. According to the principles of biofeedback and cognitive relearning, an intelligent neural healing instrument based on biofeedback was designed. Based on DSP and CPLD, a fire-new method was introduced to relate EMG with neuromuscular stimulation and combine physical therapy and mental therapy. It could implement intelligent judge, analysis and evaluation through brain Biofeedback. Master and slave computers mode was adopted in the design. Slave computer cooperated to accomplish detection and feedback of weak EMG, output of stimulation signal and data transmission. Host computer processed the weak EMG from the paralytic to form close loop biofeedback stimulation. The main sections of slave computer included:(â…°) Detector and amplifier for weak EMG.(â…±) Controller for data acquisition and transmission based on DSP.(â…²) Multi-parameter constant-current stimulator based on DSP and CPLD. Hardware utilizes DSP as bottom controller and CPLD instead of routine hardware design for stimulator, which implements the occurrence of stimulating wave and the digital adjusting for stimulating frequency, pulse-width and amplitude. Moreover, microprocessor can be released from complicated work and can be absorbed in acquiring for EMG and judgment for artificial intelligence, and also realizes selective parameter display through key and LCD control. Besides, it extents interface circuit of series communication with host computer,which will lay a favorable foundation for the software design of host computer.
