As the main wall reformed material in our country, small-sized hollow concrete block has been much more widely used than the past years. Small-sized Hollow Concrete Block walls are the main load bearing components in the Concrete Block masonry buildings. The performance of Small-sized Hollow Concrete Block walls is concerned by more and more researchers. Now, the test method is taken to study the mechanics characteristic of Small-sized Hollow Concrete Block walls by most of the scholars. Numerical simulation method is used much less. The research on the numerical simulation method is much more insufficient comparatively. There are a lot of questions which are still needs to be discussed.Small-sized Hollow Concrete Block wall is composed of several materials. The relationship between strain and stress and the failure criteria of each composition are discussed in this paper. The ANSYS software is used and the element combination types of SOLID65+BEAM188 is suggested to establish the element model of the Small-sized Hollow Concrete Block wall. The calculation results are compared with real test results. It is proved that the finite element model suggested by this paper could simulate the loading state and broking process. The precision of the model reach to the needed level.The numerical simulation method suggested in this paper is used to find the relationship between the bearing capacity, the stiffness and the restraint condition. The restriction includes the vertical grouted core and constructional columns and the horizontal steel composed beams . Some conclusions are obtained.The stiffness calculation method for the Small-sized Hollow Concrete Block wall is studied in the forth chapter. A method based on fiber composite materials is suggested to calculate the stiffness of the partially grouted walls. There are two fiber composite material models are advanced, the formula for each model is suggested. Based on this method, the asymmetrical partially grouted wall can be equaled to a symmetrical wall. So, the regular shear wall calculation method can be use to analyze the partially grouted Small-sized Hollow Concrete Block structures.
