This paper studied the transition of the shear failure and bending failure of the small-sized Concrete Hollow Block masonry walls, and the shear bearing capacity and flexural bearing capacity of the walls, when set a certain level of reinforced, vertical steel and core columns and in the certain vertical force and horizontal loads. This research is belonged to the study of NSFC(50978177), avoid shear failure of high-performance seismic masonry structure. The main research works are as follows:1.Designed the specimens, given specimen size, loading system and reinforcement figure, and determined the loading equipment’s arrangement, strain gauge arrangemen, material selection and strength test design. Introduced the specimens construction process, the problems in the construction are summarized. 2. Analyzed the influence of block and mortar strength strength, core columns, vertical pressure, high aspect ratio, the level and vertical rebar on the shear bearing capacity. Analyzed the influence of the size and shape of the wall, block and grouted concrete strength, vertical stress and vertical rebar reinforcement ratio on flexural bearing capacity. Calculate the shear bearing capacity and flexural bearing capacity of the designed walls, and preliminarily determined the scope of the loading height on impact of the failure modes of walls according to the calculated results.3. In this paper analyzed the nonlinear behavior of the specimens using ANSYS finite element analysis software, main analyzed and predicted the failure modes of the walls on different loading conditions. By calculating could got the failure modes under various loading height of the specimens, the load-displacement curve, reinforced stress diagram and the various stages of the load and displacement values, calculated the relative deformation and ductility coefficient of the wall.Compared and analyzed the cracks development, reinforced stress variation and the skeleton curve variation of the shear failure and bending failure, draw the bending failure energy performance better conclusions.Compared and analyzed various stages of loading, the displacement values, the relative deformation and ductility factor of designed shear specimen and bending specimens.Verified the proposed theory in this paper for calculating the load height of the specimen affect the judgment of the failure modes is reasonable.Recommendations to be adopted to load height on the specimen and detailed description of the loading system.
