Because of the CANDU6 NPP's characteristic, the gaseous 14C is one of the critical isotopes in the environment influence report of the Third Qinshan nuclear power plant. In the early operation of plant, the annual release amount of gaseous 14C was high than the other CANDU6 NPP. To reduce the annual release amount of gaseous 14C, the releasing mechanism of 14C was researched. In this papers, the production, transfer and release of gaseous 14C was discussed. According to the studies stated in the papers, the plant release of gaseous C-14 has been brought back to normal effectively.
