The Application Of RCM In CANDU6 Nuclear Power Plant

TQNPC is the only one operational CANDU6 nuclear power plant in China. It has two units, one of which was put into business operation in December 2002 and the other was in July 2003. Based on the outage experiences during these years, RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance) was introduced in 2005 and the project was started in June 2007, when RCM was applied experimentaly in CANDU nuclear units. RCM analysis has been completed for two power plant systems, and the results are used in the actual maintenance work.This article reviews the introduction background and the implementation process of RCM in TQNPC, describes the theory and effect of RCM analysis, summarizes the difficulties and the key points during the implementation process of RCM analysis, and provides a relatively simple, worth, standard method for other nuclear power plants. This article has six chapters. The 1st chapter is the outline; The 2nd chapter is mainly about the history of the industry maintenance and RCM maintenance; The 3rd chapter mainly describes the implementation process of RCM analysis in TQNPC; The 4th chapter mainly describes the results and main problems after the implementation of RCM analysis in TQNPC; Against these problems, the 5th chapter proposes the methods from the standpoint of technology and management, and provides the suggestions for the subsequent RCM work; The 6th chapter summarizes the main conclusion.The research of the article implies that through the RCM analysis practice of TQNPC, the preventive maintenance program is optimized, and the reliability and economy of the systems itself is also improved. Meanwhile, through the implementation of RCM analysis, we see the problems and difficulties. RCM analysis method needs to be improved, in order to become standardized and customerized. The effect of RCM will be more obvious if improvement and adjustment of technology and management are made during the RCM promotion.
