With the high development of electric industry, the electronic equipment was developed to high speed, high integrated, lower consumption of power. So, the electronic equipment became more and more sensitive. Electrostatic-discharge (ESD) is a process of high voltage, strange E-field, transient high current pulse, which would disturb the electronic equipment by conduction and radiation. So the effects of ESD on electronic equipment become more and more serious and the question of ESD protection is paid more attention by people.The paper launched on theoretic and experiment. The energy coupling correlations between ESD and shielded electronic equipment were analyzed.In numerical method, the paper adopted universal finite- difference-time-domain (FDTD). At first, we introduced the foundational principle of the FDTD. Then, taking advantage of FDTD, Mat Lab as instrument, a FDTD simulation model on shielded body of electronic equipment was developed and was detailed analyzed with FDTD. Through discussing the energy coupling correlations of ESD on electronic equipment by FDTD method, got the correlations between ESD and coupling fields. Simultaneity, we also got the change regularity of coupling field in various positions. At last, using the experiment method, the energy coupling correlations between ESD and shielded electronic equipment were analyzed. An experiment was carried out by making use of the ESD electromagnetic radiation field testing system which was set up by IEC61000-4-2, in which, the ESD current waveform was stipulated. The experiment included two parts, which were direct electrostatic discharge and air electrostatic discharge. In direct electrostatic discharge, we compared the correlations among ESD voltages, discharge currents and coupling voltages. To air electrostatic discharge, when the ESD gun approached the current target in different speeds, in the same way, the correlations between the ESD currents and ESD voltages were analyzed, and the correlations between ESD coupling voltages and ESD voltages were also analyzed.
