Actually, due to the complexity of Setting work, the software of relay protection computation just give the draft of Set Menu. Before the draft of Setting Menus are applied to relay device, they must be manually edited again by Setting engineers. Generally speaking, it's rather complicated to do that. As a result, some hidden troubles may be produced. Aim at this problem, a Expert System for Checking of Relay Setting Menu is developed.The Checking System can reduce or eliminate these manual works, which are from the course of editing to draft of Setting Menus. Checking System's function is as follow: 1.Watching editing of Setting Menus; 2.Restricting editing of Setting Menus; 3.Learning editing of Setting Menus; 4.Decreasing manual work. Accordingly, the Expert System can greatly reduce negative effect owing to manually modifying of Setting Menus.The thesis introduces a novel programming method, namely, to develop Checking System,Clips engine which developed by National Aeronautics and Space Administration(NASA), was inducted,and then, "MS Visual C# + Clips + Matlab" mixed programming method is employed.Firstly, MS Visual C# language take charge human-machine interface, system's explanation function and so on. Then, main routine is base on MS Visual C# too. Furthermore, Clips language is used to exploitation of reason-machine. Making use of Clips managed interface which is developed by USA Mommosoft Corporation, Clips reason-machine can be call by MS Visual C#. In the end, Matlab language plays a role in implementing mass numerical calculation, Matlab code can be call by MS Visual C# after it is converted into COM component.The development process and running performance of Checking System demonstrated that: 1.When user modifies the draft of setting menus, the Expert System for Checking of Relay Setting Menu can reduce manual work efficiently. 2."MS Visual C#+ Clips + Matlab" mixed programming method can remarkably improve its dev(?)lopment efficiency and shorten its development cycle. In addition, this method applies to other mixed electric expert system, too.
