Research Of City Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection

City is the place human beings gather together. The worth of matter and spirit was building up during the long time of daily life and productive activities. Nowadays, people are focusing on protecting city's cultural heritage. China, as a famous country of traditional civilization in the world, centuries-old history and various historic sites made China highly developed in the ancient time, and also influenced the development of other countries' culture. As the main part of Chinese city cultural heritage, intangible cultural heritage can exactly incarnate the feature and the advantage of historic civilization and Chinese tradition. Now, people start paying more attention on the work of conserving and retrieving the intangible cultural heritage. It became a very important topic to find out how to correctly understand the concept and character of the intangible cultural heritage, the scientific and efficient way of protecting it as well as how to combine the conservation plan and the city development plan to achieve the long term goal of conserving it.This article starts from the concept of Intangible Cultural Heritage, and analyses its category and characteristic, then investigates and discuss measures and experience of protecting Intangible Cultural Heritage. Also, the article advances some measures to protect city's intangible cultural heritage, then demonstrates the protection of intangible culture heritage in Xi'an. The main points of the article are showing as following:1. Describe the genesis of the disquisition, its purpose and significance, and its methods. 2. Introduce the related domestic and international disquisition's status.3. Discuss the concept, category and characteristic of intangible cultural heritage, and then define the intangible cultural heritage. Briefly introduce the course of Intangible Cultural Heritage's protection (both domestic and international), and the difficulties in situation of China.4. After analyzing the concept, characteristic and category, state the principles of protecting intangible cultural heritage, then expatiate the methods of protecting intangible cultural heritage from measure of and building conservation system.5. Demonstrate and investigate the theory mentioned by analyzing the special case of Xi'an.
